Application
Please download a copy the Membership Application and along with your check mail to Mr. Fred Phelps at the address noted on the form. Fred is a former member of the Trustee Board and has faithfully been the one-man welcoming committee for the Society. Fred will respond to your application with any questions to clarify the details and then send you a welcome package. Depending upon the time of year you join any back issues of the NewsJournal will be included in the package. New members joining after October first are considered paid up for the next year and will not receive current back issues.
The membership fee is $25.00 for the first year and $35.00 each year thereafter which provides you with four issues of the NewsJournal, the on-line "Official Membership Directory", access to the "Member's Only" web site, the opportunity to attend all social functions of the Society (Annual Meeting, Regional Meetings) and all of the information you need to network and explore your interest in antique glass collecting.
We sincerely hope that you enjoy being a member of a very active antique glass-collecting group and successfully build your network of friends and acquaintances. If you have questions at any time please contact any member of the Trustee Board that lives in your local area. The complete list of Trustees is listed on this web site.
Just to avoid any future confusion, any questions about Membership Renewals should be sent to Sue Slight
Renewal
A yearly membership in our Society covers a calendar year from January 1st to the end of December. Any new member that joins after October first is considered paid up until December of the next year. This member will not receive any of the back issues of the NewsJournal or correspondence, if any, from the first nine months of the year. The yearly membership fee is $35.00.
New in 2009, the Board is asking members to consider a membership renewal fee at an elevated dollar value. The first $35 will be your membership fee and the balance will become a donation towards the development and growth of the Society. Please consider renewing at the BRONZE level of $50, SILVER at $100, GOLD at $250 or PLATINUM at $500. The Board will take this opportunity to thank you in advance for your support.
A membership renewal notice is sent by mail in November of each year to the address currently listed in our membership data base. In addition, a reminder is included in the Winter issue of the NewsJournal. If we do not receive your renewal by December 31st your name will be dropped from the mailing list the NewsJournal will be discontinued and "Members Only" site access will be denied. Your membership renewal is your responsibility.
If you would like to double check the status of your membership just look at the mailing label on your recent copy of the NewsJournal. If you see a date reference that reads 12/31/2008, you are paid up. In some cases the date may be 12/31/2009 which indicates you have prepaid an additional year.
The membership renewal coordinator is Sue Slight and if you think that you are a delinquent member you can talk to Sue by phone at (563) 263-1678, by email at
or you could just write the check and send it to her at: Sue Slight, 11 Geneva Drive, Muscatine, Iowa, 52761.
Please do not send your renewals to Fred Phelps unless absolutely necessary. Fred is the new member coordinator and a renewal sent to Fred just adds confusion to the process.
